Substance Abuse Support
If you’re concerned that your child may be using drugs, so are we
At Westchester Health Pediatrics, we often hear from parents who are worried that their child might be using drugs, smoking or abusing alcohol. We want you to know that we take substance abuse very seriously and will do everything we can to help your child avoid these substances, or stop using them, for the sake of their health and the stability of your family.
We want our patients to know that we’re on their side
First, we talk with your child. And then talk some more. Because we believe so strongly that a trusting patient-physician relationship is crucial for healthy behavior, we will take as much time as is necessary to work through all the drug-related issues facing your child, and together with you, find solutions.
If together we feel it is necessary, we can administer drug screens to determine if your child is using drugs or alcohol. If this turns out to be the case, our practice has a number of experienced specialists we can refer you and your child to, either for inpatient or outpatient care.
