As a physician, I feel it is extremely important to practice evidence-based medicine. New studies and guidelines come out all the time and it is imperative to keep up and apply what I've learned to patient care. That's how I can do best by the children I am entrusted to take care of. Along those lines, our practice strongly advocates for vaccination, while also trying to curtail our use of antibiotics.
I try to treat my patients as I would my own children. That is why we stay open late on some evenings, and are available to see patients on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
I have a special interest in treating asthma, allergies and ADHD, and both my wife, kids and I volunteer at Camp Sunshine at least once a year, a unique camp in Maine where children from all over the country who have life-threatening illnesses such as cancer and lupus can come with their families and spend a week with others going through similar experiences. To raise money for the camp, the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce and I started a fundraising baseball game in 2016 where a Little League team of 11-year-olds squares off against the Yorktown Police Department. Through this “Kids vs Cops” event, we’ve been able to send several local families to Camp Sunshine.
As far as hobbies, I love to cook and to eat. Also, I'm trying to keep up with martial arts and swimming, and would not object to picking up the tuba again, although life does seem to get in the way of my outside-of-work interests.
I treat the relationship I have with my patients and families as a partnership. Be prepared to discuss your child’s health along with any good recipes you have. If you are a current patient, or even if you’re not, feel free to call me. I would be happy to talk with you to discuss any questions you may have about me or our practice.
