My goal as a Pediatric Endocrinologist is to provide the best care possible for my patients and their families—the same way I would want someone to treat my children and me.

As a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and an Attending at Montefiore Medical Center, I taught and trained Pediatric Endocrine Fellows and Pediatric residents for 20 years. I have published nearly 60 articles and chapters in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks on several topics of Pediatric Endocrinology, including disorders of growth, puberty, thyroid, adrenal and obesity. I have also given lectures and presentations at national and international conferences on these topics.

Despite being board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology for over 30 years, when I had my own children, I realized that, although I understood medicine, I did not fully understand the struggles of parenting. I feel that being a parent has helped me to have more understanding and a more empathetic approach when working with my patients and their families. Now, I have used that experience coupled with my love of teaching in my private practice for over 20 years.

Since endocrine disorders can be complex, I spend the time necessary to address any questions or concerns with each patient and their parents so they have a complete understanding of their condition. If necessary, I review in detail the most up-to-date treatment options available.

In addition, my experienced office staff and I work very closely with families and their insurance companies throughout the entire authorization process that is frequently required for several forms of endocrine therapies (including Growth Hormone and GnRH analog therapy to halt precocious puberty).

For the convenience of our patients, our office at Chappaqua Crossing provides an outpatient lab and x-ray department onsite. My office also performs onsite the necessary procedures that are important for the thorough evaluation of children with endocrine disorders, such as:

  • ACTH testing (for the evaluation of early puberty and possible adrenal disorders)
  • GnRh testing (also indicated for the evaluation of early puberty)
  • Dexamethasone Suppression testing (for evaluation of adrenal disorders)
  • Oral glucose tolerance testing (for suspected diabetes, especially in the obese child)

If needed, specialized endocrine Growth Hormone Testing is also done for patients at nearby Northern Westchester Hospital Center.
