Westchester Health and Northwell Health are here to help facilitate the safe, efficient distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine throughout the communities we serve. We are following the phased distribution plan as defined by New York state. Once the vaccine is widely available, our goal is to make sure the vaccine is accessible at as many locations as possible to anyone who wants it. As our efforts are well underway to administer the COVID-19 vaccine, the New York State Department of Health, based on need and risk, has created priority groups to receive vaccination. Please visit the Northwell Health Coronavirus Digital Resource Center for updates as the distribution process evolves.
When will I receive the COVID-19 vaccine?
Since there is currently a limited supply of the vaccine, it will take time to vaccinate everyone who wants to receive it. The CDC has established a framework to make the vaccine available in a phased approach. Healthcare personnel and high-risk individuals will receive it first, followed by workers in essential and critical industries. People ages 75 and older would be next followed by the general public. Exact time frames have not been determined, as they depend on a variety of factors. Stay informed by visiting this page or the CDC website, which will provide updated information as it becomes available. As of January 11, 2021, New York State is in phase 1b of vaccine distribution, which includes All eligible from Phase 1a, as well as education workers, first responders (police, corrections, fire), public transit, public safety and those age 65 and older.
