Westchester Health and Westchester Health Pediatrics are pleased to announce that Peter Richel, MD, FAAP, a pediatrician in the group’s Mt. Kisco/Smith Avenue office, has been given the Vitals Patients’ Choice Award for the fifth consecutive year.
Dr. Pete” (as he is known by his patients) has now been awarded this prestigious honor five years in a row. “We wanted to remind you that your dedication to your patients is appreciated and worthy of praise,” reads the Vitals award announcement. Vitals, the Lyndhurst, N.J.-based healthcare database company, recently named the winners of its 8th annual Patients’ Choice award, a recognition of top rated doctors.“
Winners are chosen based on millions of reviews and ratings collected from patients. Each year, only 5 percent of doctors nationwide are named a Vitals Patients’ Choice winner. Vitals currently has over 6 million doctor ratings and reviews in its database, the largest collection of doctor information of its kind online.
Vitals-awarded doctors have more experience and have shorter patient wait times
Data analysis reveals that Vitals Patients’ Choice winners have two years’ more experience than other physicians and see their patients approximately 20 percent sooner.
“Everyone wants a knowledgeable doctor. And in today’s busy world, people want a doctor that values their time and doesn’t keep them waiting. Vitals Patients’ Choice identifies the physicians who patients value for many reasons,” states Mitch Rothschild, Founder and Executive Chairman of Vitals, on the Vitals website. “We believe these awards are useful in helping consumers search for and select the best qualified doctor.”
As well as being a pediatrician, Richel is an author, singer and maybe a TV star!
Having practiced pediatrics at the Mt. Kisco/Smith Avenue office of Westchester Health Pediatrics since 1990, Peter Richel, MD, FAAP has authored the book, “Happy and Healthy,” focusing on wellness in the first year of life. “Dr. Pete” has also produced a CD of children’s songs, videos and a TV series, discussing topics such as bike safety, puberty, OTC medications and toddler health. And in January of this year, he received a rare callback to audition to sing on the TV show, “The Voice.” So stay tuned…our “Dr. Pete” might just very well be a TV star, too!
Westchester Health and Westchester Health Pediatrics congratulate Dr. Richel on this esteemed award and are proud that this highly recognized physician is a valued member of the WHA group.
