WH Supports "Go Red For Women

In support of AHA’s "Go Red For Women” promotion to highlight heart disease in women, yesterday I mentioned a WH contest.  All WH office staff and physicians are encouraged to wear red on Friday, February 4th.  Those offices that participate and email a photo of their team within 2-3 days will “compete” to be on the front page of our very first newsletter!

Who Says There’s No Free Lunch? Since some of the staff thought we needed more enticement, the winning office will also be bought a fabulous lunch of your choice (heart-healthy?) from Westchester Health.  Now we have even more reason to wear red for our patients.   For more info on heart disease in women, I encourage you to look at AHA’s site: goredforwomen.org, and to refer your patients there for online tools, coaching, recipes, and even a “Heart Checkup” that quantifies their personal risk of heart disease.

"Go Red For Women encourages awareness of the issue of women and heart disease, and also action to save more lives. The movement harnesses the energy, passion and power women have to band together and collectively wipe out heart disease. It challenges them to know their risk for heart disease and take action to reduce their personal risk. It also gives them the tools they need to lead a heart healthy life.” americanheart.org
