Dr. Chacko is an experienced, board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. After completing a very competitive residency at Cornell, Sarah was asked to stay on as faculty at the New York Presbyterian Hospital – Cornell Campus. There, she enjoyed seeing her own patients, as well as teaching medical students and gynecology residents.
To the good fortune of Drs. McGroary and Malley, Dr. Chacko and her husband found themselves parents of three small children in a short time. Like many of us, Dr. Chacko felt the pull of motherhood made her look hard at her bright future. She decided to move her successful practice to Westchester, to be closer to her young children. Her goal was to continue her hard work, with the highest standards, supportive colleagues, close enough to home to balance competing goals.
Dr. Chacko joined “mcgroaryandmalley.com” early this year, seeing gynecology patients, in our Katonah and Yorktown Heights offices. She is very focused on women’s preventive healthcare and has special experience in adolescent gynecology. We strongly believe that you will agree that she rounds out our team in the best possible way.
Dr. Chacko supports ACOG’s recommendation that young women meet a gynecologist (without an exam) by the time they are dating or age 15. This first meeting is an opportunity for education and reassurance: a personal health class to strategize and prepare our young patients for the choices to come.
Dr. Malley can vouch for Sarah personally, having been one of her faculty members during her residency at The New York Presbyterian, Cornell campus. Sarah’s reputation is that of a warm-hearted, bright creative physician. She spends a lot of time getting to know her patients, always finding a way to make them laugh during the most difficult conversations, with kindness and empathy.
Dr. Chacko lives in Westchester County with her husband and their three little angels.
