Kira Geraci MD MPH is a board certified allergist in private practice in Mamaroneck New York. She has been in practice since 1985.

She graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1980 in the top ten percent of her class and is a member of the Medical Honor Society Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed a residency in Pediatrics at The New York Hospital in 1983 followed by a fellowship in Allergy/ Immunology completed in 1985. She is board certified in both disciplines and has voluntarily recertified in her specialty of Allergy/Immunology twice. She recently obtained her MPH in Health Care Policy and Management at New York Medical College School of Public Health in 2007 receiving the award for best thesis.

She recently completed a five year term as Chief of Allergy at White Plains Hospital Center She is also on staff at Westchester Medical Center, the New York Presbyterian Hospital and Sound Shore Medical Center.

She has been very active in organized medicine. She is past President of the Westchester County Medical Society as well as past President of the Westchester Academy of Medicine, in which she was responsible for CME professional programs for the county. She is also past-President of the Westchester Allergy Society.

She has held several leadership positions at Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY). Most recently these include Chair of the Emergency Preparedness and Bioterrorism Committee. She has also been Co Chair of the Rural and Preventive Health Committee. She has been an active participant in the Health Care Reform Committee and served as Co Chair of the Quality Medical Task Force. She is now Vice Speaker of the State Medical Society.

She represents the New York State Medical Society at the AMA sponsored Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement, which sets medical quality measures and standards on a national level. She is an alternate delegate to the AMA for MSSNY. She is very interested in improvements in quality of care and medical error reduction and is eager to see physician champions in this role at local and state and national levels.

She sits on the board of directors for Medical Liability Mutual Liability Insurance Company and is a member of its Patient Safety and Education Committee.

She volunteers her time for community asthma education programs and is presently on the Hudson Valley Asthma Coalition Steering Committee supported by the NYSDOH and American Lung Association.
