Anthony Sgouros, MD

Dr. Anthony Sgouros joins us as a board-certified Gastroenterologist. Dr Sgouros' education includes an undergraduate degree in chemistry from New York University where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. After completing his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, Dr Sgouros completed his fellowship training in Gastroenterology at Montefiore Medical/ Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Throughout his medical training, Dr Sgouros was actively involved in teaching other physicians. His passion for education is reflected in his practice style today. He spends the time needed to ensure his patients understand their diseases, as well as staying current on new developments in Gastroenterology.

Since completing training in 1995, Dr Sgouros has practiced in Westchester County and has been an attending physician at Northern Westchester Hospital. Over that time he has become a part of the community and has developed a reputation for excellent procedure skills, attention to detail and quality care. Other health care professionals often choose Dr. Sgouros for their gastroenterology care.

Dr Sgouros has a particular expertise/interest in the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, as well as cancer prevention.

He lives locally with his wife, who is a pediatrician, and their 3 children.
